A History of Helping Washingtonians

When Dr. Kellogg opened Kellogg Optometry in 1978, his goal was to provide a premium eye care service to the Spokane area. As his business and patient reach expanded, it was time to welcome Dr. Evans and Dr. Carlson to the practice and become The Eye Care Team.

The Eye Care Team’s vision has always been centered around connecting people in our neighborhoods with cutting-edge optometric practices. Our goal is to improve our patient’s vision with every visit, be it with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology or cool new eyewear. We take a lot of pride in watching our patients grow up with happy, healthy vision.

The opening of our Chewelah location allowed us to connect with more people in Eastern Washington, providing the same great care that has worked in downtown Spokane for over 40 years. We continue to serve generations of Washington families and never stop searching for ways to make our optometry practice better.

An Emphasis on Technology

One of the ways we continue to get better is by implementing advanced technology in optometric care. Modern medical technology continues to improve accuracy in eye disease diagnosis and management. Optometric innovation constantly enhances the patient experience with more comfortable machines and less-invasive procedures.

At The Eye Care Team, we invest the time to research and select new eye care devices that help us manage and maintain your vision. Optometry is an ever-evolving field, and our practice continues to advance so that we can improve your quality of life with every visit.

Are Polarized Sunglasses Better For Your Eyes?

Aesthetics, Eyewear, Sunglasses

In today’s fast-paced world, eye protection is more critical than ever. Polarized sunglasses offer several benefits—whether driving, enjoying outdoor sports, or simply walking outside on a sunny day—but polarized sunglasses aren’t necessarily better for your eyes than other sunglasses.
For example, many polarized lenses offer UV protection, but not all do. So, they wouldn’t protect your eyes better than a pair of sunglasses that provide UV protection from the sun’s harmful rays. If you’re unsure which sunglasses are right for you, discuss your eyewear choice with your eye doctor to ensure you’re getting the best protection available for your eyes and vision. […]
