Don’t Let Vision Errors Define Your Lifestyle

Corrective eyewear delivers crisp vision to the world for millions of Americans every year. But traditional prescription glasses have their limitations when it comes to specific sports, outdoor performance, and manual labor.

At The Eye Care Team, we provide custom eyewear that is uniquely tailored to your specific needs. If it’s a contact sport, you need glasses that won’t break during a collision, outdoor activities require protection from the elements, and risky job sites need serious eye protection.

Case by Case Specialty Eyewear

Following a thorough eye exam to map out your precise visual correction needs, we’ll have a conversation about what your lifestyle demands from your eyewear. Key characteristics may include:

  • Not slipping off during aggressive motion
  • Being shatterproof
  • Specific ergonomic shape
  • Hydrophobic (water repellent) lenses

The point is this: we understand that by adopting a lifestyle-tailored philosophy, we can bring higher quality eye care to more niche activities than ever before.

Specialized Eyewear for All

When you run onto the field or take your first skate of the season, you rely on your eyes to perform your best. For many jobs and activities, protecting your vision is an essential part of the day. The Eye Care Team knows that each of our weekly routines is unique and offers specialty eyewear solutions for various activities. Let our doctors know if there is a niche activity that you participate in that requires specialized eyewear.

Modern technology has made it easier to see clearly in a variety of sports and settings. Many options are available with prescription lenses, including:

  • Sports goggles (for basketball, racquet sports, etc.)
  • Visors (for football, hockey, motorsports, etc.)
  • Swimming goggles
  • Scuba facemasks

When you’re on the job, your eyes need two things: protection and sharp vision. We offer a selection of safety glasses that protect your eyes from foreign objects and decrease the chance of eye trauma. In fact, eye doctors believe that the right protection reduces eye injuries by up to 90%.

Some designs are available with prescription lenses. Ask our optical team for the options that fit your prescription.

For trades that require custom eyewear to safely and adequately complete their role at work (such as welders), we can help with the design and implementation. Just speak to us about your needs, and we’ll see what we can do to help!

These are designed to reduce the impact of glare and harsh lighting on your driving. By polarizing light or using an anti-glare coating, these bright lights are dulled, and the general contrast of the road is improved, helping you distinguish obstacles or pedestrians more easily.

As digital eye strain has become more common with the increase in screen exposure, special lenses are being produced, which can help reduce the fatigue of computer vision syndrome. These lenses are designed to block blue light waves, which can negatively affect sleep patterns.

When fitted with an updated, accurate prescription, computer glasses will help you read from a  safe distance from your screens and devices.
